Spencer's school birthday party

Spencer enjoyed cake and chips with his friends at school today. Tim was able to pull himself away from work long enough to share in the party. Spencer and all of his friends had a wonderful time. After the party....and a few pictures, we went to see Ice Age 2. It is a MUST SEE!!

In the group picture are a few of Spencer's friends. From left to right:

Countdown

The countdown is on. We started a couple of years ago counting down to the kids birthday. We start 5 days before and we count down until the big day gets here. Today we have 3 days to go. Spencer had just got up from his nap, can you tell? {Thanks Pam for the shirt} He has no idea what we have in store for him for his birthday. Of course it's DOGS, DOGS, DOGS!!! He just LOVES DOGS! If you have spoken to him in the last 6 months, you already know that. Tomorrow Tim & I are taking a cake to school for snack time. Then Spencer & I are going to see Ice Age 2. I don't know who is more excited about his birthday, Spencer or us. More pics to follow in the coming days. Enjoy your Thursday!

A cold day with wild hair!

On the morning of Thursday, Mar 23, my ever so wonderful husband decided to let me sleep in and he was going to take Spencer to school. I told them what clothes for Spencer to wear, and after everyone was ready they came in our room to tell me bye. At a glance, Spencer appeared to look presentable for school. So off Tim & Spencer go to school and work and I stayed in bed to get some rest. I ran my errands and Mom picked Spencer up from school. I actually managed to fit in lunch with Tim {which is VERY RARE}. After I finished all my running around, I went home. Not long after I got home Mom brought Spencer home. I ask him where was his jacket since it was a chilly 29 this morning, to which he replied, "Daddy didn't give me one this morning." He had on a long sleeve shirt and 2 t-shirts, so I guess that was suppose to compensate. As he turned around, his hair was standing straight out on the side. I ask him what happened to his hair, to which Mom replied, "It was like that when I picked him up at school." I could feel the embarrassment building. Spencer said, "Well Daddy put water on it this morning." Obviously it didn't work. So I made a quick phone call to Tim to ask what happened this morning....of course I got his voice mail and I left this message, "How dare you send my child to school without a jacket and with his hair standing out." Of course Tim said, "Well he had on 2 t-shirts and a long sleeve shirt."

The moral of this story is.....there's no rest for the weary. If you want it done and done right, DO IT YOURSELF!!

Have a good Friday!! ***HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELIZABETH & ANTHONY!!!***

Spencer's Grass

As you can see, today is a nice, sunny day. Spence felt the need to pull out his new sunglasses. He is holding his grass that he has been growing in his class at school for St. Patrick's Day. He loves school. He is eager to get up and go to school everyday. Even on Saturday's and Sunday's he wakes up and says, "Do I have school today?" Quite a change from the first week of school. He is learning so much. He learned to write his first and last name this week. Just when I thought he was still my baby, he goes and does something to show me that he's changing everyday. And just when I thought I couldn't love him more, he goes and does something to make my heart swell with love & pride. He will always be my baby though. Doesn't he look COOL?!?!?

9 months Sunday March 19th

Sunday, March 19 was 9 months since Sullivan left this earth. Somedays are better than others, but none of them are easy. We look forward to a trial soon, anticipating this will bring a little closure to our lives. Nothing will ever be the same in our lives again, but knowing the man who killed Sullivan will soon pay for what he has done helps {some, not much}. Everyone has been so wonderful to us during such a difficult time. We never knew there were so many people who loved us. We can never repay everyone for their love and support....I don't think anyone is expecting it either. We are living proof that there is POWER IN PRAYER!! Had our faith not been as strong as it is, I don't know how we could have gotten through this.

On a different note.....Spencer started another week of school today. He is so silly when he wakes up...well...pretty much all day too. The things he can come up with just amazes us. We will keep everyone up to date on the going-ons in our lives. We hope you all have a good week!

Elder Jarman & Spencer share a moment before Spencer heads off to school. "JAR-MAN" was a missionary here in Feb of 2004. Oh how times flies! He and his parents were touring SC this week and decided to come see us for a day...then they are heading back to Washington. We sure will miss him. Sullivan & Spencer LOVES Jarman!!

Spencer's first t-ball practice. He was a little unsure of things at first, but he really enjoyed the hitting part...thanks to Tim's purchase of a new tee to practice on. It was a bit warm out, so Spencer was more interested in his drink in the cooler than he was chasing the ball. Overall, it was a good practice.

We had Spencer's 5th birthday pictures taken today and thought we would share with everyone. Isn't he handsome?!
It's Us!! We thought we would try something new to keep everyone updated on the goings-on in our lives. We're still learning....please be patient.
