Weekend Wedding

We made a day trip Saturday to Clemson to Sandy and Jonathon's wedding. My mom, sister and niece all went with Tim, myself, Sawyer and Saxon. Leslie was gracious enough to allow Spencer to spend Saturday all day and night with them. The road trip was not so bad, and seemed to fly by...but I guess when you are all talking non-stop time passes quickly. We had a great day and wish years of happiness to the new family!
I think they should've played "Holding out for a hero" as they drove away on the Harley ;)

First Day of 2nd grade

Spencer is officially back to school. :( I am sad to see him go, and Sawyer kept saying "I cool" (meaning I go to school) and pointing at the door. Tim and I walked him in and the kids and I picked him up. He said that he loved 2nd grade, it was a whole lot more fun than first. He also said that he loves his teacher. By the way, that is a gift for his teacher in his hand. He told me that he REALLY liked his teacher, and when he hugged her she smelled GOOD! lol How cute is that?!! After homework today, I wonder if I am really ready for school, but unfortunately, I have no choice.
Good luck to all the little kiddies this year! Unpacking!

Saxon Update

This is one of the moments when Saxon wasn't crying. He went for his check up last week ~ 12lbs 2 ozs and 24" long, shew... talk about growing. Anyway, Dr Finch diagnosed him with colic. We had noticed over the last few weeks he just wasn't content, with sleep, feeding or anything. It was easy to explain it away to hungry or sleepy, but the crying wasn't going away. So he gave us a prescription for levlin, and I took it this weekend to get it filled. In the process, Jenny experienced first-hand what kinds of fits he can throw. Tim can't seem to deal with them, and I just can't seem to kiss them away. The more I kiss the more he cries. We've tried everything, and walking is the most beneficial. Once we gave him the rx, he seems very relaxed, a little too relaxed, almost sedated. So after 2 doses (and talking to Ashley who dealt with colic with Emery) we stopped giving it to him. Now I am going to try an all natural method.

Brusha ~ Brusha

Sawyer has a new toothbrush and loves brushing his teeth. I figure now that he has enough teeth, we may as well get into the habit early enough so it doesn't become a wrestling match as he gets older. He also has been running a fever for over 24 hours now. Mortin seems to keep it down, but as soon as the motrin wears off, the fever goes right back up. We'll keep a watch on it and see what happens. Sarah said Chayce is the same way, and she took her to the doctor but they couldn't find anything wrong. SO, we will wait and see.

Water Park

We enjoyed a fun filled day at Palmetto Falls Waterpark on Friday. We decided to go out with a bag before school starts, and boy did we! We stayed for over 6 hours. The kids LOVED it! Sawyer and Saxon stayed home with my mom, so Spencer and I got to spend some fun time together. I must say, I think the adults enjoyed the park as much as the kids.

How's this for good photography?!!

Meet the Teacher Night

Mrs. Vandevander is Spencer's 2nd grade teacher. He is pretty excited. His desk is in a group of several girls...I think he's going to enjoy that. lol! I'm still a little nervous about how I will be on Monday, I think Spence will be just fine.

What's new with Saxon?

Check out Saxon's rash. This popped up last week at the beach. We didn't put him in the ocean, pool or even water at the house, so where's the rash coming from? We don't know. We got back from the beach Saturday evening and I took him to the doctor on Sunday morning, only to hear, "It must be a reaction to something." No, you think?!! Of course, whenever we got home and went to the doctor the rash was almost completely gone. Tim's theory is he's allergic to the beach and we should just stay home. OK, sure! I was thinking the heat, but now today the rash is coming back. SO who knows? He is scheduled for a well check up on Thursday, so we will see what his regular doctor has to say.

Saxon also took his first nap in his own crib in his/Sawyer's room. AND since he hasn't been sleeping well at night and acting like he is starving every evening when the sun goes down, we decided to give him a little cereal. He liked it and slept from 10pm-5:30am. Isn't that great? He slept all night and Sawyer was up at 3. I guess he has just realized that he has been pacifier free for almost a week. He only had it at night, and I don't think he missed it while we were at the beach, but Tim said the first thing he said Saturday night at bedtime was, "pash?" (that's what he calls it). What is it with these kids? No one here likes to sleep except for Tim & I.
I'll keep you posted on the rash. Anyone else experienced this? Or are we the only ones?

Where's Sawyer?

Sawyer is doing his best finding things to do while Spencer is at the beach with my parents. Notice the scooter, he was headed up the stairs.

Art Camp

Talk about late posting, Spencer & Elizabeth attended an Art Camp through the Kershaw County Rec Dept in June. Here are some of the pictures. They really enjoyed themselves. I wasn't sure if Spencer would go alone, so I paid for Elizabeth to go too.

The last day of the camp, all of the kids were signing each others shirts. Notice Spencer's is clean, one of the kids asked to sign his shirt and he said, "No, I want mine to be clean." He truly is my child :) lol
