Graduation Day

Better late than never, I guess! Here are the pictures of Spencer's graduation from Wednesday. He had a fun time doing his program. Then after the program we went to his classroom to view a slideshow...talk about emotional:( It's hard to believe that Spencer's first year of "REAL" school is over. THe summer will be over before we know it and he will be back in school, we had better enjoy our days together now.

Diego's Back

As you can see, Diego is back home and back to his old tricks. A neighbor across the street called today and she had seen our flyer. Apparently she has had Deigo since Tuesday. She "says" that he came up in their yard while she was doing yard work. And she put him in her basement. She could tell he was someones pet. But we put out flyers the same day he turned up missing, all up and down these roads,, so funny how 48 hours later they call....THEN they didn't leave a message. I had to call back the number on caller id. ANYWAY, all that matter is we have the dog back...now what she the "REWARD" be? They did ask about that. Oh, and did I mention his collar was gone? How's that? It has a buckle on it like a belt. Hmmm....

Class Zoo Trip

The group picture is Spencer, Olivia, Davis, Kiana, Garrett & Blake!

Today we went to the zoo for Spencer's end of the year field trip. As a chaperone I had 3 boys and one of the boys dad was with us for part of the time. The boys were typical boys. To further explain, we pretty much sprinted the entire zoo in the first 45 minutes of the trip. But everyone had a good time. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures. Check out the one of Spencer and Garrett shooting at the turkey.

Missing dog!

Yesterday when we got home, the gate was open to the backyard and Diego is gone! We thought he would have come back as it got dark, but no Diego yet. We have looked and looked and still nothing! We have put out signs everywhere. Please say a little prayer for us. THis has really torn my nerves up. Spencer just keeps asking, Is he home yet? Keep your fingers crossed he comes back soon!

I just had to post this picture from Sunday. Diego was chillin' on the diving board watching Emma and Spencer play in the pool. Isn't he SOOO cute!

First Food....YUM-O!

Here's my video! Hope it works. Sawyer wasn't sure whether he liked it or not! Enjoy!

Mother's Day

I had a pretty nice mother's day...considering! I woke up to breakfast and a clean kitchen. Tim had let me sleep in (just a little) and had cleaned the kitchen and cooked breakfast. How nice:) Then Spencer gave me my cards. He started Saturday night telling me that I was going to love what he put in my card. I told him not to tell me so it would be a surprise. I had been "training" him on what to tell Tim I wanted...a new lounge chair for the patio. SO, when I opened my card from the boys, Spencer had put a dollar in it. He said, "That's for your chair mommy." How sweet was that?? Then at my mom's, he gave me another card and it had another dollar in it. He said that was so I could get 2 chairs. What a sweet memory! I'll be sure to write that in my journal!! Hope everyone had a great mother's day!

Sawyer @ 4months

Guess who is already 4 months old?! Seems like he was just born yesterday. Sawyer is growing up so fast, it seems unreal. Saturday was the actual 4 month mark, then today he went to see Dr Finch for his check up. He weighs 15.05 lbs and is 24 1/2" long. He is right on target with his growth. As you can tell, he is very happy. Notice he is trying to talk to Dr Finch. And for those of you who have seem him lately, these pictures describe him to a "T"! This is all he does is smile, smile...SMILE! We didn't have to spoil him, he has spoiled us. Anytime you are feeling down or need a little pick-me-up, just come see Sawyer, he lifts my spirits everyday! He's such a blessed addition to our family.

New pics of Sawyer

Here are a couple of new pictures of Sawyer. Check out the onesie (I'm with the band)in the picture of him under the toy...isn't it so cute?! The other picture is of Sawyer and Linzie. They had a play date last Saturday. It was so funny to see them watching each other, trying to figure out who the other was.

Now, to explain the "ugly jar". After FHE at Ashley's on Sunday, we decide to implement an ugly jar. We have a lot of words we don't use, i.e. bad, stupid, shut-up, etc. Well, instead of what you may have seen before as a swear jar, we decided to implement the ugly jar. Anytime that any of us do something we aren't suppose to do, we have to put a coin in the jar. Any coin. Then when you do something nice, you get a coin out of the jar. This was the first day, and all of these coins came from Spencer. Mainly because when I said he had to put a coin in the jar, he threw a fit, thus having to put in more than one. So far it seems to be a good idea. Of course, we have a lot more coins in the jar now, but we are trying to teach him what it means to lose something and then earn it back. Can you tell Spencer made the sign?

Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

A tribute to Mother's

This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers intheir arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherryKool-Aid saying, "It's alright honey, Mommy's here." Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted. This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse. For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T. This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes. And for the mothers who lost their baby in that precious 9 months that they will never get to watch grow on earth but one day will be reunited with in Heaven! This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging ontheir refrigerator doors.

And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football or soccer games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars, so that when their kids asked, "Did you see me, Mom?" they could say, "Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world," and mean it.This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat. For all the mothers who read "Goodnight, Moon" twice a night for a year. And then read it again. "Just one more time."This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead. This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and theirdaughters to sink a jump shot. This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls "Mom?" in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college. This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomachaches assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away. This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them. This is for all the step-mothers who raised another woman's child orchildren, and gave their time, attention, and love... sometimes totallyunappreciated! For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their14-year-olds dye their hair green. For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings, and themothers of those who did the shooting. For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely. This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war.

What makes a good Mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time? (I've done two of these + Spencer's homework)Or is it in her heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time? The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby? The panic, years later, that comes again at 2 A.M. when you just want to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in your home? Or the need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying? The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation...And mature mothers learning to let go.For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers.Single mothers and married mothers.Mothers with money, mothers without. This is for you all. For all of us. Hang in there. In the end we can only do the best we can.Tell them every day that we love them. And pray. Please pass along to all the Moms in your life.

"Home is what catches you when you fall - and we all fall."

Growing Up

Can you believe that Spencer will be graduating from kindergarten in just a couple of weeks? Seems like he just started 5K. Next thing you know he will be grown up and worrying about girls! Shew! I hate to think about it! Notice the face, this was the day after the altercation at the playground. I told him he looked like he just came home from the Iraqi war! He giggled and thought that was funny!
