Spencer & Santa

Today we set out on a trip to the Mall to see Santa. Isn't it funny how the whole list changes whenever they sit on Santa's lap? Spencer ask for a blue Power Ranger...I thought to myself, "A WHAT?" He has never played with or mentioned a power ranger before. Anyway, he did ask for Crocs, and that was on his list, so maybe Santa will bring them.

We hope everyone has a good day and weekend. Maybe we will have a baby soon. Keep your fingers crossed and keep us in your prayers.

A Busy Christmas Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. We started by going to see Charlotte's Web on Friday, Sorry no pictures. Spencer and Elizabeth really enjoyed it. Of course they cried. It was a little sad, Spencer pulled his knees to his chest and dropped his head in his knees and just cried and cried. Then Saturday we went to decorate a gingerbread man for Santa and make reindeer food at a little shop over in Camden. As you can see, Denise & I took Spencer, Makenzie and Elizabeth. The kids had a blast. Their cookies turned out so cute. Afterwards, we went to Chili's for lunch. Later that afternoon, we had our annual Christmas Social at church in which i was in charge of the Nativity scene. It turned out to be short, sweet and to the point. I was inspired by Charlie Brown's christmas cartoon. St Luke being read to the soft piano in the background...it was nice {if I must say so myself}. Anyway, after that, Tim & I went to a Holiday drop-in at Keith & Jody Barton's. We ended up not staying very long, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Sunday was the annual Reynolds Family christmas lunch and gift exchange at Uncle Bo & Aunt Junko's. Thanks for coming Ashley to support your family...just kidding...I know you are packing. Spencer and all the kids had a good time. It's funny how some of the older ones seperated from the younger kids, it we like they were "TOO COOL" to do the "KID" thing. Everyone is growing up so fast, it's just amazing. Times like this bring back memories of my childhood, and memories of those who are no longer here...Sullivan and Gma. We miss them so much, but we know they are together and watching over us.

Have a good Christmas weekend. We have several things planned, we'll just have to see what happens with the baby. Seems like I am making life in the womb a little too comfortable. LOL

Goff Family Baby Shower

OK...OK... I am a little behind. I have been crazy cleaning and getting ready for the baby. My Honey-Do list turned into a Mom-do list. Translation=everything I had ask Tim to do by Dec 6 was completed by my wonderful mother. According to Tim, the house is "clean". He doesn't understand WHY the ceiling fans need to be dusted or the floors and bathrooms cleaned. Thanks to my mother, the chores were all done. Don't get me wrong, I've done my fair share of work too. Which included scrubbing bathrooms floors on my hands and knees as well as the usual, laundry, dishes, etc. I even found time to make 6 baby blankets for all the new babies in our family for Christmas, plan a play for our church social, send out christmas cards, shower thank you cards....and the list goes on.
Here is the only picture I could load. This is my shower at Denise's house given by her and the Goff family. The food was delicious. Thanks to all for the gifts and the fun and fellowship.

Sullivan's 7th Birthday

Today we celebrated Sullivan's 7th birthday. It's hard to believe that he is 7 this year. We started our birthday celebration by purchasing some books for the Wateree Elementary School library in his memory. The books were presented to Spencer on the morning show on Tuesday, Nov 21. Spencer also is the first person to check out the books. Then today we made the cake and when the rain finally let up, we decided to let some balloons go. Since Sullivan was born at 1:44 pm, that's when we released the balloons. I bought gifts for Tim, Spencer & myself. More statues to add to our Willow Tree collection. We also put balloons out at the cemetery and the roadside. Isn't it just a shame that we have to do this? But we will do whatever we need to do to keep Sullivan's memory alive. He will always be with us, it's just in a different way now. Thanks to all of you for your calls and especially for your visits. We love you all!

MADD: Tie One on For Safety

On Friday, Nov 17, Tim & I attended that MADD kickoff for "TOOFS" Tie one on for safety. This press conference was held at the State House downtown. I know some of you are wondering why you didn't know about it, and that is because I didn't know that I was going to be speaking until Tuesday of this week. I just could not pass up the chance to share our story and hopefully STOP someone from making a wrong decision during the holidays. Carey & my mom was the only ones able to go. If you are interested in getting a ribbon to tie on your car antenna or mirror, please let me know, I have plenty of red ribbons.

Family Fun Day

What a wonderful day we had on Saturday, November 11, 2006. We held a family dun day in memory of Sullivna's 7th birthday. We had the event at the KC Rec Dept. in Camden. We had a DJ, popcorn & lemonade stand, cookie decorating, inflatables, lunch, games, coloring table and much, much more. All who attended had a wonderful time. We raised over $5000 and all the proceeds are going to MADD, Mother's Against Drunk Driving. What a wonderful way to keep Sullivan's memory alive and to celebrate his 7th birthday. Thank you to all who attended and made donations to make this day a success.

Boring Dr Visit

I went to the doctor this morning and there is not really anything to tell. He came in the room and said, "Your weight, blood pressure, blood work and urine all look fine. Any questions?" It completely blew my mind, so I couldn't think of anything to ask. We did BRIEFLY discuss labor and delivery, I am NOT getting an epidural because of my back problems. So we discussed alternate pain meds. Which I can only get in the beginning, nothing near the end. But that's ok, I feel like I am tough enough to take the pain....or atleast that is what I am telling myself.

The nurse checked the baby and I am measuring 31 wks, which I am, and the heartrate was 147-150. The baby is head down and was VERY active while she was trying to check everything. My next appointment is Nov 21. {The day before Sullivan's birthday}.

Happy Halloween

Boo at The Zoo

Memorial Race

A race was held in Memory of Sullivan on Saturday, October 28 at the Darlington Race Track. The race was sponsored by the Palmetto Drag Racers Association that Tim is a member of. Tim was going to race his car, but something happened, I don't know what, but something with the computer or something...I DONT KNOW! All I know is the car is for sale! Anyone who is interested, PLEASE let me know. He decided to take a road trip to NC a few weeks ago and bought another car. Of course, I was under the impression there was some type of motor under the hood when he purchased it, but it wasn't....that's a whole other story...and BILL. Anyway, the memorial race was a success. Tim, Spencer & I were introduced and Spencer drew the winning raffle ticket.

Mountain Train Ride

We had the best weekend in the mountains...with all the family. Mom, Dad, Wendy, Mike & the gang, Tim, Spencer and I. We went on a train ride Friday, to the Great Pumpkin Patch and went trick or treating with Charlie Brown and Lucy. The kids had a good time...we did too.

Tim, being the trickster that he is, was yelling while we were going through the tunnel.

Spencer got to pick out a pumpkin, write a letter to the great pumpkin, go to the petting zoo, jump in the inflatables, go through the maze and lots of fun things.

Tim just had to keep taking pictures of me. Check out the pumpkin I stashed under my shirt...HA!HA!

State Fair

We enjoyed an evening at the fair, last Wednesday night. Tim, Spencer & I met up with Brandon and Jenny, and we had a great time. Spencer got to ride lots of rides, and of course, we had a variety of things to eat.

We began and ended our trip on the BIG slide. Tim had to ride with him, because he was not tall enough, but he was tall enough for the adult swings, so his dad was sure to put him on them. I was scared the entire time he was on the ride.
Jenny won Spencer this lion on one of the games. He just loves it! Thanks Jenny...just what we needed a HUGE lion...lol!!
We also rode the ferris wheel with Brandon and Jenny, as you can tell, Jenny did not like how high it went.
By the end of the night, Spencer had all he could take.

I decided to get him a few shirts, and he also got some Croc's from Sullivan, Spencer & the little one too. He did get some money, and some other things. The friday after his birthday me, Tim, Sarah, Chris, Ryan and Pam all went to Inakaya for his birthday dinner. It was delicious!! yummy!! Looking at this picture makes me want to go back.

What a BELLY!

I can't believe that I am putting these pictures out here for the whole world to see, but it's not everyday that we get to experience the joys of creating a life. Can you believe that I have a 40 inch waist and am only 25 weeks. Only 15 weeks to go, and things are going very well. Baby and I are doing great!

Spencer was so excited to take a picture with Mommy's belly.

Aren't the sunray of stretch marks around my navel attractive?! right!!!

Science Night

We went to Science night at school on Tuesday. We went to 3 different rooms and learned something different in each room. We learned about the environment, our 5 senses and all about the earth. Check out Spencer's face with the worms...he was terrified of the earthworms.

After the classes were over, we went to the bookfair and bought 2 books and then went to Pizza Pizazz in the Cafeteria. Tim ended up getting home late from a meeting in Charlotte, so Spencer and I got to spend a nice evening together.

Ironically, on our way home, after the sunset, we could see the moon and to the right of the moon was Jupiter. Spencer thought this was really neat. So that turned into another "educational moment" when we discussed our planets. I know, I know...I'm SO GOOD! lol

An Emotional Night

Spencer, Tim & I were given a certificate Sunday in Primary for completing our reading of the Book of Mormon. OK...OK, we didn't read, we listened to the cd's, but Spencer liked this better than just sitting here reading. He especially like the parts where they said Amen, everytime they did, he was sure to chime in, "AMEN!" Then I knew that he was listening.
Monday was a pretty emotional night for all of us, especially Spencer. We tried to pack up some of Sullivan's things, so we can start making the transition of "THE MOVE!" We packed up a few books and a couple of toys, then Spencer just broke down and started crying....then Tim...then me. So we had to call it quits. Afterwards, we were putting Spencer in bed and he was still upset, so I told him to pray that Heavenly Father would bless his to have a good nights rest, and boy did he pray. We were all crying, but this was the most sincere pray that I have heard in a long time!

FINALLY, a {small} sigh of relief!

As most of you already know, we went to court on Tuesday for the sentencing of the drunk driver in Sullivan's accident. Thankfully he was sentenced to 13 years in prison. He MUST serve 85% of the sentence and there is NO parole!! yippee!! Ironically, if he serves the full 11 yrs as sentenced, he will be released the same year Sullivan would have graduated high school. But that's ok, we will be in the press AGAIN because we have set up a scholarship fund for his peers from his pre-school class. Only those 19 kids qualify for the scholarship. We will of course have some sort of criteria they must meet, we're not just going to draw out a name and give them the money. They also will have to assure us how they intend to use the money. We have some time to figure all of this out. ANYWAY...the sentence could have been more, but with the minimum being 1 year, we are satisfied with 13. It's not like this sentence will change anything in our lives. It doesn't change our pain, or the fact that Sullivan is gone, but we do take comfort in knowing that the person responsible for killing Sullivan is locked away for a long time. Sorry to be so harsh, but that's the facts, he did KILL Sullivan. Sullivan never stood a chance. Listening to the defense attorney in court on Tuesday, I never realized we had such an upstanding citizen who lived on Shivers Green Rd. You would not believe how good of a father, husband and son he is. He was such a good father that he spent Father's Day 2005, drinking with his buddies instead of spending time with his family. What a guy!! Is the sarcasm coming through? We dearly appreciate everyone who was there to support us. Sorry we did not get to speak with everyone, but the Solicitor's escorted us back to his office to avoid any contact between us and his family. But thank you so much for your love and support!!

On a different note, I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is A-OK! I had the glucose test, and passed with FLYING colors!! lol I am measuring right on track and the baby's heartrate was 145. Kind of a boring visit, but atleast I know that everything is ok! It's so assuring to hear the sweet beat of my baby's heart. I can't wait to see what the baby will be, and what the baby will look like! Only 16 weeks to go!! YIPPIE!!

Oh BABY!

Check out this belly. Whoa baby! This was taken last week, when I was 23 weeks. I have a doctor's appointment this Thursday. I am growing by leaps and bounds, in case you couldn't tell. This picture just DOES NOT do justice to my waistline. Maybe I'll post a "skin" picture soon...once I get the nerve to take one. lol

Georgia Weekend

We went with Chris & Sarah to Georgia this weekend for a wedding. Since the ride was SOO long and we we're not sure when we would get back Sunday night, we let Spencer spend the weekend with Grandma & Grandaddy...of course, he didn't object. Here he is preparing to go, and also here are some pictures from the wedding.
Quinten & Blake, Chris & Sarah

Stephanie & Skye coming down the walkway, and then Kelsey, Stephanie and Skye after saying "I DO!" Everything was just beautiful. A little hot, but very nice. We spent most of our time in the car driving from the hotel to David & Hillary's, then the hotel to the wedding. Kinda of a lengthy ride, but definately worth it. A nice weekend away!

A Day with Goldie

Spencer brought home "Goldie" today. Goldie is their classroom friend. Each day he gets to go home with a different child. Today was our day. We took Goldie to Tim's work and had a snack, then we went shopping, then came home and wanted to play outside but it had rained a little and everything was wet, so they couldn't really do a whole lot... we did however work in a few pictures. We took Goldie to meet the Post family, while Wendy printed these pictures for me. Goldie also has a journal that we get to record all of the events of the day. When we got home, Spencer introduced Goldie to his big brother's pictures. It was so sweet, I had to fight back the tears. Then we got ready for bed and read 2 books. Spencer and Goldie are tucked in for the night and are sound asleep. What a great day with Goldie!
